THE HOUSE OF BERNARDA ALBA

The Crescent Theatre
13th - 15th March 2025

By Federico García Lorca
Adapted By Rona Munro

The House of Bernarda Alba pays homage to the original while giving voices to silenced characters to explore their emotional and psychological states.

The play centers on Bernarda and her five daughters who live with their mother. Following the death of their father, Bernarda imposes a strict period of mourning, confining the daughters to the house, leading to tragic consequences.

The House of Bernarda Alba depicts Bernarda’s control over her daughters, offering a window into how society treats women.
